Rinat Manhoff
Eighth Grade English Teacher
Rinat Manhoff has undergraduate degrees in political science and Middle Eastern studies from UC Berkeley, where she wrote her honors thesis about Ethiopian Israeli teenagers and African American stereotypes. After graduation, she drove across the country with everything she owned packed into her Saturn station wagon and began her teaching career in Washington, DC. While teaching there, Rinat earned her master’s degree from the Georgetown Public Policy Institute, where she focused on the American education system. Rinat begins her first year at BPC with 25 years of independent middle school teaching experience, most recently teaching 7th and 8th grade English at the East Bay School. She lives in a multigenerational duplex with her family and five dogs. Rinat loves Yankees baseball, Giants and Cal football, live theater and dance, and ice cream.
