7th Grade’s Cardboard Arcade
Inspired by Caine’s Arcade, we introduced our own cardboard arcade project in 7th grade science. Students use low-tech tools–cardboard, duct tape, foil–and augment them with higher-tech MaKey MaKey boards and Scratch programming to make their games even more interactive. Along the way, we use engineering practices, especially focusing on user-centered design. Then we invite the lower school students (K – 5) to come over and play our games!
