Lesedi Graveline
Fifth Grade Assistant Teacher
Lesedi Graveline is a proud Motswana-American and womanist educator who has spent the past decade working with youth in schools, outdoor education programs, and community-based spaces. As the incoming 5th-grade assistant teacher, Lesedi is excited to bring her love of hands-on learning, mentorship, and storytelling to the classroom. Lesedi holds a master of theological studies from Harvard Divinity School, where she studied Black cultural traditions, spiritual activism, and the African diaspora. She also earned a B.A. from the University of Connecticut in human rights and women’s, gender, and sexuality studies. Raised by a family of farmers, land stewards, and water protectors, Lesedi grounds her teaching in deep respect for the natural world. A favorite saying from her Setswana heritage—Ke ngwana wa mmu (“I am a child of the soil”)—reminds her to lead with humility, care, and connection. Lesedi is thrilled to join the BPC community and looks forward to learning and growing alongside her students and colleagues.
