Kim Livingston
Lower School Art Teacher
Kim Livingston grew up in Oregon, attended UC Santa Cruz, and graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.A. in fine art. She studied art and art history in Sienna and Macerata, Italy, and presented at the Reconceptualizing Early Childhood Education Conference in Auckland, New Zealand. She holds an arts integration specialist certificate from California College of Art’s Teaching Institute and an M.A. in education with a focus on art education and social justice and equity from San Francisco State University. She has also been trained in the Responsive Classroom approach and the Project Based Learning teaching method. Outside of school, she loves to sing, play the ukulele, hike, travel, cook, make art, and play with her two delightful children. Kim was the kindergarten teaching assistant at Black Pine Circle School for four years before moving into the full-time role of lower school art teacher. Kim joined the Black Pine Circle School faculty in 2002. Outside of school, she loves to dance, sing, be in nature, travel, cook, make art, and play with her two delightful children.

I work with kids because it is so much fun!
A Favorite Book
The Gracekeepers by Kirsty Logan is one of my favorite books because it is written with beautiful imagery and imagination.
