Kindergarten Head Teacher
Ke Williams is thrilled to be stepping into the lead role in kindergarten during her second year at Black Pine Circle School! She is grateful to have spent the past year in kindergarten as the assistant teacher with former head teacher, Ms. Ronquillo. Ms. Ke graduated with honors in 2018 from the Bay Area Teacher Training Institute (BATTI), where she earned her preliminary teaching credential and master’s in education. She completed part of her undergraduate studies at UC San Diego and holds her B.A. in liberal studies from San Francisco State University. Previously, she worked as an assistant teacher at Prospect Sierra and spent several years in various roles at Crestmont School. A Bay Area native, Ms. Ke enjoys spending time by the ocean and taking in sweeping views from local mountaintops. She is a novice photographer who enjoys spending time with her son and dog, and volunteering.
Why I Work with Children
I love having a hand in shaping our future, and children mold and shape me as well. I’m in awe by the amount of learning and growth that I experience from teaching and working with youth.
A Favorite Book
One of my favorite books is Zen Shorts by Jon J. Muth. I love how this book gives me something to ponder about. It challenges me to look at how I perceive things and how I interact with others and the world. I can often apply these short stories to my life, when I have to make a decision or when I notice myself judging someone or a situation. It often inspires me to come from a place of kindness and compassion. And it reminds me that its okay to not have all the answers.
