Connect & Enrich Your Experience
Gain Insight into Your Child’s Experience
Curriculum Night
A wonderful opportunity to hear from our teachers and gain a deeper understanding of the engaging curriculum your children will experience throughout the year.
Science Week
Activities and events throughout the week shine a light on our science program, including the Upper School Science Slam, Science Night, and guest speakers, many of whom are BPC parent scientists.
Theatrical Performances
Lower school parents are invited to attend grade-level Performances of Understanding that showcase student learning. In middle school, students participate in three years of drama classes, culminating in a full-class theatrical production in eighth grade – a highlight of the year that brings their skills and creativity to the stage.
Ages & Stages Roundtables
These twice-yearly grade-level roundtables offer insights into our educational philosophy and curriculum, explore child development, and create a space to share resources and parenting tips.
Concerts
Students share the fruits of all their practicing with concerts showcasing their individual and ensemble talents. Concerts include the Upper and Lower School Winter Concerts, the K–8 Spring Concert, as well as the All-Bands Concert.
K–8 Art Exhibit Opening & Masterworks Presentations
Our theater is transformed into a gallery of themed artwork and students get to answer questions about their pieces on display. Families can also view the eighth graders' Masterworks presentations.
Beloved School Traditions
Back-to-School Fall Carnival
We close the street for this carnival-style event for the entire BPC community to kick off the school year. The dunk tank, jumpy house, arts and crafts and maker activities, and games are almost as popular as the cotton candy, popcorn, and shaved ice!
K–8 Games Day
An end-of-year day of fun field games at a local park, run by our P.E. coaches and teachers with help from parent volunteers.
K–5 Halloween Parade & Festival
A costume parade followed by a fun festival on the yard run by parent volunteers including themed activity booths.
VIP Day
Grandparents, relatives, and special family friends are invited to visit our school to enjoy activities in the classrooms with their host students followed by exploring the Annual K–8 Art Exhibit and 8th Grade Masterworks Projects together.

BPC Community Kick-off & Open Houses

K–8 Parent/Caregiver Coffee Socials
Hosted by Family Circle, our parent and caregiver organization, these coffee socials offer a welcoming space for families to connect, share experiences, and build community.
Class Socials (K-8)
Off-campus social events hosted by parents / caregivers at the beginning of the school year as a way to get to know each other and to reconnect.
New Family Orientations
An opportunity to sit down with our head of school and director of development to gain insight into the operations of the school and learn how your family can be involved in school life.

Black Pine Circle School’s primary fundraising event of the year: an unforgettable evening of music, dancing, and great food and libations, featuring a live auction and Raise the Paddle.
Opportunities to Learn More
At Black Pine Circle School, parent education events for parents and caregivers generally fall into two categories: those that provide insight into BPC’s curriculum and programs, and those featuring guest speakers who address topics of interest to our community—such as parenting, child development, and the overall well-being of elementary and middle school-aged children.
We typically host several Parent Education Events a year.
