Mirna Cervantes

Executive Director, The Multicultural Institute (MI)

Mirna Cervantes is a first-generation Latina leader with a demonstrated 13 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector serving immigrant communities. In 2010, she joined The Multicultural Institute (MI), a regional nonprofit serving Latinx families in the Bay Area. She dedicates her career as MI’s executive director to working towards increasing equity in the Latinx immigrant community. Mirna is a leader who believes in participatory decision-making, meaningful cross-sector collaboration, and internal development of talent and leaders. Mirna grew up in Southern California and moved to the Bay Area to attend UC Berkeley, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. With a master’s in nonprofit administration from University of San Francisco, she aims to create institutional and strategic shifts at MI and in the nonprofit sector at large. In her personal time, you can find Mirna spending time with her family, watching horror movies, or reading a good romance novel.
