Jose Ruiz

Jose Ruiz was born in Granada, Nicaragua, and immigrated to the U.S. when he was a year old. He has been passionate about youth work and after-school programming for about five years. Prior to joining Black Pine Circle School in 2021, Jose worked with youth in Portland, Oregon as the director of an after-school program for underserved communities. He has also worked locally with youth in Richmond. Jose graduated from San Jose State with a degree in graphic design. He enjoys basketball and football, painting, sketching, and practicing calligraphy.
