Scott Phoenix

Partner, Fifty Years

Scott Phoenix is a partner at Fifty Years, a venture capital firm backing founders solving the world’s biggest problems with technology. He was previously the co-founder and CEO of Vicarious, an artificial intelligence and robotics company acquired by Alphabet in 2022. Earlier in his career, he was an entrepreneur-in-residence at Founders Fund and a Y Combinator alum. He has published peer-reviewed research in Science, ICML, and NeurIPS, designed award-winning digital art and games, and authored multiple patents. Scott now serves as a board member and advisor to several hard tech startups and venture funds, supporting scientists working in AI, robotics, synthetic biology, quantum computing, brain-computer interfaces, and more. Scott, a neurodiverse individual, has two kids in the Lower School and two guinea pigs. He loves Black Pine Circle’s unique commitment to Socratic practices and its celebration of seeing the world through many points of view.
