It’s Science Week at BPC!

Yesterday, upper school, students participated in a Virtual Science Slam! Each guest scientist had ~ 30 seconds for their “pitch” – why do you care about the science you do? – while their slide was being presented. Scientists then moved to breakout rooms and students popped in and out, science fair-style, to hear more about their work and ask questions.

Guest Science Slam Scientists included:

  • Hannah Wood, Research Entomologist and Curator of Arachnida and Myriapoda, Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History
  • Abrar Abidi, Molecular Biology, UC Berkeley
  • Rachel Fox, Neurobiology, Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard
  • Isabel Hawkins, Astronomer & project director at the Exploratorium
  • Mari Cobb, Immunogenomics, The University of Chicago
  • and BPC Alum Cole Compton – Class of 2014 – Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Student, Case Western Reserve University, Class of 2022
