The Senior Send-Off, a much-loved and anticipated annual event took place on May 19 on the upper school campus. This event is a bit mysterious to the uninitiated. It is when we invite the BPC class from four years prior, to gather as a group for one final time before they head off to college or whatever is next. It is always a joy to see the kids, many of whom have been out of touch for four years, immediately reconnect as if no time had passed. Happy and proud, with everything in front of them. Parents of the students gathered too, to reminisce, to marvel, to be grateful, to poke fun, and to let go a little more.
Even by BPC’s high standards, the Class of 2021 is an impressive group of kids–smart, determined, aware, curious, and kind. If you ever wonder what the value of a BPC education is, talk to a BPC graduate. As partial evidence of this, here is the list of colleges they will be attending next year: American, Arizona St., Barnard, Brown, Cal Poly SLO, Carnegie-Mellon, University of Chicago, Columbia, Cornell, Emory, Harvey Mudd, Illinois, Central Michigan, Northwestern, Oberlin, Occidental, Oregon State, Pitzer, Pomona College, Pratt, Princeton, UCLA, UC Santa Cruz, USC, San Diego State, Sarah Lawrence, Stanford, Swarthmore, Temple, Vanderbilt, Vassar, Virginia Tech, Washington University, Wellesley, Wesleyan, and Yale.
We wish our alums every success as they embark on the next stage of their educational journey!
