Socratic Seminar Workshops

The Socratic Seminar at BPC is a cornerstone of our Socratic Practice, K–8. Interested in learning more and experiencing a Socratic Seminar? We invite you to join us for one of our upcoming workshops:

Middle School Workshop
Thursday, February 6
7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
FAD Theater

Open to all current middle school families and applicant families, including students.

Lower School Workshop
Thursday, February 13
8:40 am – 9:30 am
LS Library

Open to all current lower school families and applicant families, adults only.

Socratic practice allows students to...

ask insightful questions
develop the awareness and ability to create space for all voices in the room
know that their voice is valued, heard, and respected
build skills to think critically about the topics we engage with, the texts we read, the origins of their thinking, and the world around them
reflect on their growth as partners in their learning

Our teachers act as facilitators and co-learners, modeling genuine curiosity and ensuring every student has a chance to contribute.

Meet the Kindergarten and First Grade Head Teachers

Join us for a virtual meet and greet and to chat with our Kindergarten and First Grade Head Teachers, Ke Williams and Chelsea Feldman, Head of Lower School, Tanveer Alibhia, and Director of Enrollment and Admissions, Greta B. Wong. This is a great opportunity to hear more about the curriculum and ask questions.
