Katy Isa (Hakimian)

Katy Isa is an attorney specializing in criminal defense throughout the Bay Area. For 13 years, Katy worked as a senior trial attorney in the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office. In 2011, Katy switched careers and became general counsel for Property Ventures of Marin, Inc., handling contract and real estate law matters for its nationwide real estate holdings, as well as civil litigation and labor and employment law matters for its national auto glass holding. While working in the corporate world, she often found herself drawn back into her criminal defense work, periodically taking on lengthy criminal trials. This year, Katy made the transition back to criminal defense, opening her own law practice in Oakland. Katy received her J.D. from Northeastern University, School of Law in 1997 and her B.A. in political science from Pitzer College (Claremont Colleges) in 1992. Katy is admitted to practice law in California and the District of Columbia. Katy loves to spend time outdoors – traveling, hiking, biking, paddleboarding, and kayaking – with her husband and two boys, who currently attend Black Pine Circle School.
