Health, Safety & Preparedness FAQ

What is the overall state of the BPC campus?

The school was deep-cleaned by commercial cleaning company Wessne Janitorial. All cleaning was completed following FEMA guidelines.

What steps can I take to best protect myself and my family?

According to the CDC:

  • Get a flu shot to protect yourself and others from the flu, which has similar symptoms to COVID-19. It’s not too late.
  • Stay home when you are sick with respiratory symptoms. For now, these symptoms are more likely due to influenza or other respiratory viruses than to COVID-19-related virus.
  • Follow respiratory etiquette: cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue, then dispose of it in the trash can immediately. If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your elbow.
  • Hand hygiene: Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with 60%-95% alcohol content.

From where is BPC receiving guidance on health issues?

What if my family is planning to travel internationally?

BPC will rely on guidance from federal, state, and local health departments before making any decisions regarding quarantine of students. Please keep these CDC guidelines in mind. Specifically, travelers returning from any overseas trip to higher risk countries should self-isolate for 14 days and monitor for COVID-19 symptoms. If symptoms occur, such as fever, or cough, or difficulty breathing, travellers are advised to contact local health care providers, preferably by phone, and inform them of their symptoms and their travel history.
