BPC alum Ross Parish (Class of 2013) brought his Yale a capella singing group, called RedHot and Blue, for a new year gig at BPC (in between concerts at the Piedmont Piano Company and at Grace Cathedral). Being the oldest all-gender a capella group at Yale, they sang music from their roots, from Jazz standards to Broadway hits to the Beatles. Grades 4-8 enjoyed a concert of their music and music teacher Ms. Sumsion’s students learned more about a capella singing in workshops designed just for them.

“It inspires you to go for your dreams and it just flows through me which is a complement because as a dancer, when that happens, it means it’s a song that I can really feel. “Return to Me” was a beautiful piece and it moved me. It was my pleasure to be able to hear it and sing it.” —Milana, 6th grade

“Their music amazed me, how people could do things like that together; how just 12 voices could do that.” —Francis, 6th grade
