Second Grade Assistant Teacher
Sonytha Bun was born and raised in the Bay Area. She obtained her B.A. in liberal studies with a concentration in childhood studies from California State University, East Bay. She is currently enrolled in the Bay Area Teachers Training Institute to pursue her masters of education, so she can become a future elementary school teacher. Ms. Sonytha has worked with school-aged children for over ten years; her work with youth consisted of homework assistance, reading intervention, sports coaching, introduction of nutrition classes, and mentorship. In addition to her career in education, Ms. Sonytha enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, listening to music, playing volleyball, and reading a good book. She is looking forward to working with the Black Pine Circle’s students, families, and community this year.
Why I Work with Children
I work with kids because I believe they are creative, imaginative, and intelligent; children will grow into adults who will make innovative changes to the future.
