Meg McCarthy
First Grade Assistant Teacher
Meg McCarthy grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from Saint Mary’s College with a degree in liberal and civic studies, as well as a minor in psychology. Before moving to the Bay Area, she worked for four years as a teacher’s assistant in both kindergarten and fourth grade at Holy Family School in South Pasadena. Having worked closely with children for the past eight or more years, Meg feels most at home in an elementary school classroom. She is currently pursuing a teaching credential at Cal State. She started at BPC working in the Extended Day Program, creating strong bonds with students across all grades K-5. Meg is very excited to begin her fifth year at BPC, and will follow her class from last year into the first grade classroom. She loves to read, go to the movies, hike, be by the ocean, and do crossword puzzles when not at school.
Why I Work with Children
I love interacting with children because they teach me how to be a good person and show me a different way of looking at the world!
A Favorite Book
The Harry Potter series, which shaped who I am today. I love these books because they remind me to always look for the magic in everything.
