Eileen Duncan
Third Grade Head Teacher
Eileen Duncan is the third grade head teacher. Ms. Duncan received a B.S. in human development from UC Davis, holds a California multiple subject teaching credential with a supplemental authorization in English language arts from San Francisco State University, and has significant training in the area of equity and inclusion. A Berkeley native, Ms. Duncan has taught at independent and public schools in the East Bay including Chabot Elementary School and Julia Morgan School for Girls. Her experience includes teaching preschool, third grade, fifth grade, seventh grade pre-algebra, and sheltered English instruction. In Eileen’s personal time, she loves venturing outdoors with her toddler. Before motherhood, she ran marathons, read a lot more, led volunteer service trips maintaining trails in the Sierra backcountry, and hiked the John Muir Trail nearly three times. This is Ms. Duncan’s seventeenth year teaching; she joined Black Pine Circle School in 2013.

A Favorite Book
Angle of Repose by Wallace Stegner. Stegner is a master of his craft, and I couldn’t stop thinking about the characters–even when I wasn’t reading.
