Third Grade Head Teacher
Eileen Duncan received a B.S. in human development from UC Davis, holds a California multiple subject teaching credential with a supplemental authorization in English language arts from San Francisco State University, and has significant training in the area of equity and inclusion. A Berkeley native, Ms. Duncan has taught at East Bay independent and public schools including E. Morris Cox, Chabot Elementary School, and Julia Morgan School for Girls. Her experience includes teaching preschool, third grade, fifth grade, seventh grade pre-algebra, and sheltered English instruction. Ms. Duncan is a single mother by choice, and in her personal time, she loves venturing outdoors with her young son. Before motherhood, she ran marathons, read a lot more, led volunteer service trips maintaining trails in the Sierra backcountry, and hiked the John Muir Trail nearly three times (She would love to help you plan for an upcoming thru-hike!). This is Ms. Duncan’s eighteenth year teaching; she joined Black Pine Circle School in 2013.

Angle of Repose by Wallace Stegner. Stegner is a master of his craft, and I couldn’t stop thinking about the characters–even when I wasn’t reading.
