Brennan Fischer
Fifth Grade Assistant Teacher
Brennan Fischer was born in Santa Cruz, but at age eight moved with his family to Niskayuna, Upstate New York. He attended the University of New Hampshire, where he studied psychology, sociology, and philosophy. After college, Brennan worked in social work/human services, serving marginalized communities, families in need, and folks with differing abilities in various small cities in Upstate NY. He moved to Oakland in 2014, where he continued his career in social work, started a professional photography business, and eventually transitioned to outdoor education. After working for Climate Corps Education Outside, The Gardens at Heather Farm, and Sienna Ranch, Brennan decided to make the jump to a classroom setting. He spends his personal time gardening, hiking, biking, cooking, dancing, and going to hear live music. Brennan joined Black Pine Circle School in 2021.
Why I Work with Children
I work with children because they inspire me with their joy, authenticity, natural moral predilection towards kindness, generosity, and helpfulness.
